The sun is out and the calendar has turned to Opening Day for the 2023 Major League Baseball season. Two great baseball guys – Josh Gernatt and Casey Collins join the podcast for our annual MLB/Braves preview show. Tune in to hear everything you need to know about the Braves upcoming season in this 60 minute podcast.

We look at the Braves offseason moves (losing Dansby a year after losing Freddie) and the outlook for the 2023 season. We go through the starting lineup with our thoughts on what to expect from the major players. Is Acuna healthy and bouncing back to his 40/40 form? Will Michael Harris continue to excel in year 2? How much of a beneficially will Matt Olson be of the elimination of the defensive shift? Is the year Austin Riley gets the MVP votes he deserves? Who is Sean Murphy and how we will change the catcher position? Is Ozzie finally healthy for an entire season? What is the plan for Ozuna? Will Rosario find lightning in a bottle again? Do the Braves have someone to play SS? Is d’Arnaud now the clubhouse leader?

We also discuss the pitching staff. Is Max Fried a top 5 pitcher in baseball? Can Kyle Wright repeat his season from last year? Does Morton have anything left in the tank? Is the sky literally the limit for Strider? Who is going to fill the 5th start role? Will we ever see Soroka again? How does the bullpen stack up vs years past. Who are some the names we may not have heard of that will be contributors this year?

We also look at the major rules changes in MLB this year including banning the defensive shift, bigger bases, pitch clock and balanced schedules.

Finally, we look at back at the 2023 World Baseball Classic and how much we enjoyed including Ohtani v Trout to end it.

Baseball season is in the air and its the best time of the year. We hope you enjoy our preview!
