Iceland lawyer Omar Valdimarsson joins the podcast as our first International Guest. Omar is a lawyer in Iceland whose handles injury cases, criminal cases and appeals. Omar talks about his background as a journalist and living in the United States and what eventually drew him to law. Omar talks about legal education in Iceland and how to become certified as a lawyer. We talk about the laws in Iceland including different punishments for crimes and how injury victims are compensated – did you know that if you are in a car wreck you are able to collect compensation even if you caused the wreck?
