$2,015,000 Settlement – Hip Injury Case

Overview:

Our client was driving home from the airport when she was stopped in traffic and was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer, suffering a serious hip fracture.

Injuries:
Hip fracture requiring immediate surgery and a multi-week hospitalization.

Challenges:

While the trucking company admitted liability, they only had $1,000,000 in insurance coverage — in our opinion that was not enough to fairly compensate our client given the severity of her injuries.

Our Work:
We located additional Underinsured Motorist (UM) coverage that we were able to “stack” and that were available to our client. By strategically pursuing both the trucking company’s policy and the UM coverage, we were able to maximize the total recovery.

Result:

At a pre-suit mediation, we secured a total settlement of $2,015,000 to compensate our client for her injuries, medical bills, and future needs and avoid the need to go through lengthy and costly litigation.
