Overview:
We represented the children of a man who was tragically shot and killed at a gas station with a known history of violence on its property.

Injuries:
Wrongful death.

Challenges:
The case involved proving that the gas station owners were aware of ongoing criminal activity yet failed to implement adequate security measures to properly protect its customers. The available insurance coverage had also been reduced by payouts to other victims.

Our Work:
We filed suit under negligent security theories, uncovering evidence of prior lawsuits and criminal incidents at the property. This strengthened our case and increased pressure on the defendants. Despite reduced policy limits, we successfully negotiated for the full remaining available coverage.

Result:
We secured a $1,500,000 settlement for the decedent’s children, providing them with financial support and justice for their loss.
